Solid with two leaves that go down so can go flat against a wall. It is on casters so no lifting as is well made and heavy. 4 chairs stored inside these are not fragile chairs made also of wood as table which I believe is oak. The table has a white top that can take heat. Though only 4 chairs the table can seat 6 people easily. A must for Christmas or anytime for extra guests. This picture only shows one of leaves out.
