IMPORTANT: PayPal is currently only available in the app
When making an offer you have the option to request to pay via PayPal. The seller can either accept or reject payment via PayPal, which you will see stated underneath their counteroffer. Please discuss shipping costs during the offer process in order to prevent misunderstandings later on.
Once you and the seller have agreed on a price and confirmed it, you will be asked to provide your shipping address. Please fill it out carefully, as this is the address to which the seller will ship your item. If you decide to skip this screen, the seller will receive your default PayPal shipping address to which they will send the item. Therefore, it is important to ensure that this address is correct and up to date.
In the next step you will be able to log into your PayPal account and initiate the payment. The seller will be informed, once the payment has been completed, so that they can start the shipping process.
We generally recommend to request PayPal payments when purchasing more expensive items or items that you can’t pick up in person. If you don’t feel safe purchasing from a seller who doesn’t accept PayPal it might be preferable to find another seller for the item you are looking for.
Furthermore, it is advisable to always be careful if a seller wants to direct you away from PayPal payments directly in the app and asks you to send the money via the ‘Friends & Family’ option, bank transfer or other services such as Western Union, Paysafe card, etc.
